If you're like me, you've probably been playing Mass Effect 2 pretty much nonstop since it came out on January 26th. And if you bought the game new or paid the $15 to activate the Cerberus Network on a used or rented copy of the game, there's some new free DLC headed your way tomorrow. As described by Bioware's Community Manager "Evil" Chris Priestly on the Bioware Forums earlier today, players can look forward to a new set of armor and a new shotgun to play with. They are:
Cerberus Assault Armor
Cerberus assault armor is designed for shock troops, turn the tide of battle against creatures or forces that would decimate normal soldiers.
Increases heavy weapon ammo capacity by +10%
Increases shields by +10%
Increases health by +10%
M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun
The M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun is a longer-range shotgun with armor-piercing loads. This design also violates several intergalactic weapons treaties, so the M-22a is not distributed to militaries. And here's a look at what the new gear looks like:
The Cerberus Armor and Eviscerator Shotgun in action. You can get this new gear for either your XBOX 360 or PC versions of Mass Effect 2 at 2:00 PM Eastern, 11:00 AM Pacific. Don't ask me what time that is in Hawaii.

I tried the armor out, and didn't really like it. I like my customized armor more. It's still cool because it's free, and I really like what EA/Bioware is doing with the Cerberus Network. Very interesting concept to have a network inside of a game on an existing network. So far, so good. Keep the free content coming!

sweet, armor looks cool. is it so much to ask that the helmet can be taken off. it's the only wish I have for terminus and Blood Dragon Armor

It'd only been out two weeks. I'm assuming that by the way EA seems to be promoting the idea of the Cerberus Network as a benefit to buy the game new vs used that there's going to be more free content coming down the pipe.
Besides, at least it's not the Horse Armor fiasco....

Meh, atleast its free. Would have preferred more than just one additional weapon and armor, but maybe in time.

Meh. Free is free. This doesn't really do much for me though.
